Example - Kickstarts

.This scene is effective because of the use of cross cutting, it's such an easy and effective way of editing a music video and making it look good, It is something we will be looking to do in our music video
I like this scene again because of the use of cross cutting in this shot and the way the shoes keep changing throughout the scene is very effective and makes the video look incredibly clever. I also like the way the clothing i.e the shoes are appropriate to the music genre and is something we will be looking to achieve throughout our music video.

This is a music video by Example which are and indie band but has influences of hip hop within it. The music video is quite simple and uses the conventions that Andrew Goodwin has identified is in the majority of all music video's. One of these is that it uses illustrate, which means the video represents the meanings of the lyrics, and genre. Another convention the music video follows is that it amplies the music, this means that the meanings and effects are controlled and constanlty shown throughout the video.

This video is quite a simple video and provides many ideas that could be replicated fairly easily. The video also uses cross cutting, this is where there is more than one shot on the same screen, this is put into use when there are different faces and bodies on the screen

  1. Josh. Look at Mikey and Arran's work for how you should be analysing a video as part of your research and planning.
