Lip Sync Practice - Charmaine

Pre Production/Planning

we got asked to do a task which will see and allow us to practise how good are lip miming is. Me and Mikey made this practice video together with the help of our mate Dan. we decided to do a rap choice of song because we; me and mikey are really into this sort of music and know we wanted to use music in this type of genre on are final project. Also we chose it due to the fact we both new the song quite well and so when it came to lip syncing we already knew the lyrics.

Production/Filming

We decided that we wanted to find a place which is quiet and easy to film and a place we would be allowed to use. We found a perfect location which was a quiet a little room which fitted perfectly for are little task. This was good because we didn't waste much time looking for are place where we could film therefore we had more time being able to film are task and edit it. We just had the camera in 1 place throughout the whole video because as the task said 'practice miming' we thought it was best to just base this task on what was set and leave the camera still. This is effective cause we could just think about are lyrics and how good or bad we are at miming therefore completing the task successfully and not going onto a task which is completely wrong. We also had all the characters sitting down in the same sit this makes the whole video simple but easier to watch are lips on the play back to see if the task which we were set was up to a high standard. Finally we wanted to add a little bit of believability into are little music video so we acted a little bit in the film by doing hand actions and making it seem like were saying it with are body language, this is effective because it makes the audience believe its coming from us therefore making the music video more realistic

Post Production/Editing

Me and Mikey then had to edit the task; this bit was very easy for us as it was just cutting the little bits out we didn't need and making it level so every time the person changes it is in time. The editing was not high tech or hard to pull off just basic editing. We only had basic editing due to the fact we wanted to complete the task which was set to a high standard and the task never mention different camera shots ETC so we kept the editing simple.

Good Points

All round good project acting and miming was up to the standard we wanted it to be, the camera work was up to a standard we wanted it to be completed at. The location we had was perfect and set the scene we wanted to complete and what we wanted to bring across to the audience. Most of this task was good and i'm very happy with the outcome.

Bad Points

A bad point I would have about this project is the uniform we had on; we had normal clothes not making it realistic enough for the audience to believe in it and believe its are story. Also the lighting in the room is not the best and you could not see the faces of the people miming that well so I was not that happy with that and if I did it again I would make sure the lighting is much brighter to allow the audience to be able to see the characters lips properly.

Overall

Overall i'm extremely happy with what we completed and finished to a good and high standard, I would give this a 8/10 for what the task was that we were set which we completed successfully.
